Company Name and Logo

Today we concentrated on getting a company name sorted for our project. In the end we decided on Front Room Films. After we had picked the company name I decided to make a logo for it. This is what I came up with.

Target Audiance Feedback

This year we have decided to use web 2.0 to its full potential. To gather feedback from my target audiance I have made pages on several social networking sites. With these pages I can publish a bulitin with a link to an online survey webiste such as Survey Monkey. This website allows me to create free surveys and view results as graphs. This will help me to get comments and criticism from my target audiance. I can also post links to my videos on YouTube and ask for oppinions.

We have created a Twitter Account

We have also made a Facebook Page

In Camera Editing Task

Last lesson we were put into groups and told to use to create a very short film which contained no desktop editing. The film had themed on suspicion and we had to plan the different shots and quickly storyboard. We went to the school car park with a tripod and a camera. We set up the shots using our storyboard.

The first shot was a long shot of someone trying to open a car door looking. this was how we intended to show suspicion. The second shot was a discovery shot from behind the wing mirror revealing someone trying to open the door. The next shot wad a close up of the hand pulling on the handle. Then we used long shot of two people looking towards the camera. Next we used an over the shoulder shot of someone pointing at the man trying to open the car. The suspicious man then runs away from the car.

Because we were only aloud to use 'in Camera Editing' we had to had to film all shots in chronological order. We also had to use camera techniques to compensate for the lack of real editing. One of the techniques we used was a 'discovery shot'. This is when the camera is moved from behind an object to reveal something else. In our piece the camera was hiding behind a wing mirror of a car to reveal someone trying to open the door.

Targets

Last year for my AS Level Media project, we produced an opening to a thriller film. I think that we managed to crate a reasonable opening scene using most of the codes and conventions of the thriller genre. From last year I have come up with some targets for myself to make my project even better than last year.

1) Do more posts on my blog - last year I had very few blog posts. This year I am aiming to lots more blog posts than last year.

2)Leave more time for editing my video. Last year the editing took up a lot of time that we hadn't planned for. This year I will set much more time aside for editing.

3)Use my time more effectively - Last year I didn't start filming my project soon enough. This meant I had to rush some aspects of it in order to get it finished. This time I will start filming as soon as possible
